A Long Game

Where do you see yourself in 5 or 10 years? Why is this question repeatedly asked in interviews compared to any other substantial question?
The questioner wants to see your vision and how far you can think if you have given 5 or 10 years. What are the possibilities you would explore or would give a try.

Yesterday when I was coming home from the office. I was having a good conversation about life with my senior, and one particular thought I could not keep off from that time.
I realized I would do this for most of my life, say around the minimum next 10 years.
So I have this much time to improve myself and get to the position of how I want my life to be at that time.

I can learn during this time or sit and enjoy the paycheck coming to me. I can learn as many things as possible as they grow with me. I love writing. I can learn more about it, or bare minimum, I can continue to write.

What do I want to achieve in life for anyone? This question can be tricky and impossible to answer in one day or year. It can take years to figure out what you want to do.

Watching the vast ocean of opportunities every moment of my life and deciding what I want to do gives me back the power and realization that I am the driver of my life.

Investing 5 minutes in yourself every day for 10 years can result in groundbreaking results. That is 18250 minutes, around 13 days of doing something continuously for 10 years. Now that is something very different to digest.

In today’s world, we have a universe of knowledge. I can learn and be anything at any moment. I want to be a musician, writer, professional athlete, fitness trainer, or anything. My choices will decide the path in life.

If someone continues to eat junk every day for 5 to 10 years, the body will have drastic changes and effects. Someone with this lifestyle may not be around to see the consequences of their choices.
Focus on what you want to achieve in the long term and decide your habits based on that, then work on them one by one.

The goal is not to start a habit and forget it the next day.
The goal is to be a person who is healthy, plays music, workouts, works more efficiently, journals, and meditates. As James clearly says, lifestyle should be the driving force, not the quantity of habits.

Choices have the power to visualize your life 10 years down the road. The most essential thing in life is vision. You need to see what is obvious, and most poeple miss obvious things in life.
Only simple ideas and things have the power to change your life.
You can program your mind how you want to think everyday. thinking of it as a long game.
