As soon as Apple decided to ditch the headphone jack, other companies followed like sheep. From a company perspective, it’s a good sign if there are more phones in the market without a headphone jack, there is more chance that people will want to switch to truly wireless and will opt to get rid of all the wires they can.

I was thinking of buying one for myself but was confused for a long time which one to go considering the price of the earphones, battery, and most important comfort.

I was astonished by the number of options that were available to me at any price point. They get started from 33 dollars (2500 Rupees) and range up to as much money as possible.

The best ones are around 20K or 30K, the Bose, Sennheiser, and Sony. But I didn’t want to go that far as I thought the technology is new and maybe they are not worth the price to pay.

I waited for a long time and watched as many videos I could on the Truly Wireless Earbuds.

I landed on the recently launched Sony WF XB700.

I had already owned the Sony WH XB900N, and I know the sound quality and battery backup of the headphones. So it was not about the company I wanted to be sure of what I am getting for the price I was paying.

The Amazon price was 9990 Rupees, and I didn’t want to pay the listed price, it’s the habit Amazon has gotten us in. Now for every item, I purchase I wait for the sale, and saving some bucks is the best thing you can do for personal finance.

The day before the Prime day sale, the price was fluctuating between 9990 to 8990, so I purchased it and then at midnight, the price dropped to 7990 Rupees, and I canceled the previous order and placed a new one.

So maybe they were not a good option at 9990, but at 7990 they definitely are.

As soon as I got them I am using them every day, I get up listening to some audiobooks or Podcasts, even the YouTube videos and Netflix movies are more convenient now.

Truly wireless Buds is one of the best purchase I have made after so long, the first one was my Kindle, and above mentioned Sony WH XB900N.

After using it, I found the eight benefits of going Truly Wireless and owing a TWE.

1. FEWER DISTRACTIONS

I have suffered a lot while working. I would put on the headphones and connect to the wired headphones to the phone to start a session on Brain.fm or Spotify, and the notification would pop up. I don’t want to see it, but the focus vanishes for some time.

After using Truly Wireless Earphones, I can keep my phone away from the desk where I am working and get the work complete without having to move and distract myself even if someone calls I can pick up the call without reaching for my phone. While exercise too I can put on the Truly Wireless Earphones and get down to work without disturbing anyone in the room with my trainer’s audio from Headspace.

2. CONVENIENCE

There was a time when I had to get the wired earphones our of my Sennheiser pouch, and I would think a million times before using them because, in the end, I have to arrange them and put them back after use.

Now I can use TWE on the go as soon as they are out of the case, they are ready to connect and help me out on whatever it is. This freedom and convenience is so helpful that you don’t have to waste any time on arranging them and untangling them in the next use if you forget to place them correctly.

3. BATTERY LIFE AND SOUND

The wireless earphones have come a long way. The first was Onkyo W800; this was back in 2015. After that in five years there has been a significant increase in the battery and sound quality.

The Bluetooth version is 5.0 that gives a stable connection over the previous one, maybe that point is debatable, but the Bluetooth that was in the feature phones when other mediums of sharing media were not there like Share it or Files by Google is an upgrade worth noting.

It’s essential to note that the battery on these earphones is far better than anything we have listened to before also the case gives the extra life to these depends on the brand and price you pay.

4. USE BEFORE SLEEP

The problem with wires is they tangle and give you a hard time sleeping. It happened to me, I would sleep while listening to music, and in the morning, wires will be all around me, and the fear of suffocation is what restricted my form using the wired earphones in bed.

Using the wireless ones can give you the freedom to use them anywhere as they are easy to use and keep. Even if you fell asleep, there is no worry as they will not cause you suffocation. In the morning, they will be lying in bed, ready to pick up again to put in the ear or the case.

5. LISTENING TO THE SILENCE

This feature you can use even if you don’t have the wireless ones. Most of the time, I plug the earphones and listen to nothing, there will be no music playing, and that gives me time to listen to the silence.

Most of my ideas for work, and when I have to learn or focus, and music is a distraction. That’s when this feature comes in, and it gives me the control to allow how much noise should go in.

6. COMFORT AND DESIGN

I was baffled before buying one, and after purchase, I can say that comfort and design are very underrated aspects of earphones and headphones. Due to their lightweight, any pair you pick, you feel that they are the part of your body. Most of my days I would wake up and plug the earphones start the podcast or energy playlist from Spotify and after sometime would not even notice them.

7. AFFORDABLE AND STYLISH

The pair of Truly Wireless Earphones comes in the wide variety of ranges they can go from 5 dollars to as many as you want to spend. The one thing I notice while I was researching for my pair was if you want a good and decent calling from a pair you need to spend a little as much as 66 USD or 5000 rupees and after that, the features either in music or in calling the earphones won’t disappoint you.

8. THINK OF THEM AS A LONG TERM

I have made this a habit whatever I purchase on the internet from Amazon or offline. I think of it as a long term, and this habit alone has saved me may bucks.

Spending in the short term and using it for the next 2 to 3 years with the quality product is far better than switching every year and collecting the pile of accessories that have zero value in the market and your eyes.

Feel free to share if you have any other benefit or disadvantage you found going Truly Wireless.

If you are wishing to go Truly Wireless and are in doubt feel free to ask anything as well.
